C++ – Error compiling dhrystone in Unix

Error compiling dhrystone in Unix… here is a solution to the problem.

Error compiling dhrystone in Unix

I’m new to benchmarking and makefiles. I downloaded the Dhrystone benchmark from the link below and I’m trying to compile it, but I’m getting a strange error. I tried to solve it but I didn’t succeed. Can someone help me run the dhrystone benchmark?
Here are two different ways I tried to compile. But both give the same error result 🙁

Try compiling the command:

gcc -g dhry.h dhry_1.c dhry_2.c -o dhrystonex

make all

Error:

Solution

Make the following changes. A line preceded by a - indicates that you should delete the line. A line preceded by a + indicates that you should add. In total, you’ll replace two lines (by prefixing them with a #include) and add a new line (a :

).
