You try to appease a humanoid creature you can see within the cast range. The target creature must make a Wisdom save and successfully pass, otherwise it will be charmed by you for the duration of the spell.
Dominate Person
- Level: 5
- Casting time: 1 Action
- Range: 60 feet
- Components: V, S
- Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
If it is fighting you or your friendly creature, it has an advantage when making this save.
When the target is charmed, as long as you are on the same plane as you, you can maintain telepathy with it.
When you are conscious, you can order the creature through telepathy (no action required), and it will try to obey as much as possible.
You can describe a simple and specific behavior instruction, such as “attack that creature” “run to that location” or “go to that item”.
When a creature completes an instruction but does not receive further instructions from you, it will use its own abilities to protect itself as much as possible.
You can use actions to control the target thoroughly and precisely. The creature can only do the actions you choose, and can’t do any actions you don’t allow, and it will continue until the end of your next round.
During this period, you can also ask the creature to make a response, but this requires you to use your own response to achieve.
Each time the target takes damage, you can try to make a Wisdom save. If the save is successful, the spell ends.
