Move Earth 5e

Specify a square terrain area with a cast distance of no more than 40 feet inside, and reshape the soil, sand, or clay in the area in any way. You can raise or lower the height of the ground in the area, make or fill a ditch, raise or level a hill, or shape a pillar.

Move Earth

  • Level: 6
  • Casting time: 1 Action
  • Range: 120 feet
  • Components: V, S, M
  • Duration: Concentration, up to 2 hours

The length of the changed terrain shall not exceed half of the longest side of the entire area. So, if you affect a 40-foot square, you can create a column up to 20 feet high, raise or lower the ground up to 20 feet, dig a trench up to 20 feet deep, and so on. These changes will take 10 minutes to complete.

Each time you maintain concentration for 10 minutes, you can choose a new terrain area to exert influence.

Due to the slow changes in terrain, the creatures in the area are usually not trapped or injured by the movement of the ground.

This spell cannot change natural rock or stone buildings. But stones and buildings will still be changed by adapting to changes in terrain. If the way you change the terrain will make the building unstable, it may collapse.

In addition, this spell cannot directly affect plant growth. The removed soil will take away any plants that grow on it.
