Planar Binding 5e

You attempt to use the spell to establish a vow with a creature to make it serve you, which can be one of the creature types such as a celestial creature, an elemental creature, an elven creature, or an evil demon. The creature must be within casting distance of the spell for the entire duration of the spell. Typically, before the spell is cast, the creature is first summoned to be trapped in a reverse-acting protective magic circle.

Planar Binding 5e

Level: 5th

Classes: Bard, Wizard, Cleric, Druid

Casting Time: 1 hour

Range: 60 feet

Components: V, S, M

Duration: 24 hours

After the spell is cast, the target must make one Charisma immunity. Failure to grant immunity results in the target making a vow to you and serving you for the duration of the spell. If the creature is summoned or created by another spell, the duration of the spell that maintains its existence is extended to match the duration of this spell.

A creature that has established an oath must follow your instructions to the best of its ability. You may command the creature to accompany you on your adventures, to guard a location, or to deliver a message. The creature will follow the literal meaning of the instructions you give, but if the creature is hostile to you, it will try to misinterpret your literal meaning to achieve its own goals.

If the creature completes all of your instructions before the spell ends and you are still on the same side, it will come to you and report back. If you are not on the same plane, it returns to the place where it made its vow and stays there until the spell ends.

When you cast this spell with a 6 ringed seat, the spell’s duration increases to 10 days for a 7 ringed seat, 30 days for a 7 ringed seat, 180 days for an 8 ringed seat, and one year and one day for a 9 ringed seat.
