How does dnd 5e sleep work?
In dnd, this dnd 5e spell can cause some creatures to fall into a deep sleep caused by magic. Throw 5d8 once; the result is the total health of creatures affected by the spell.
You specify a casting distance, and creatures within 20 feet of the point are affected by spells in ascending order of remaining health.
When calculating creatures affected by the sleep 5e spell, start counting from the creature with the lowest remaining health. Each subject is comatose until the spell ends. Sleepers can also wake up when they are injured, or they can be shaken or woke up by another person in one action.
After subtracting the total health of a spelled creature from the total health of the spell roll, the remainder is used to calculate whether the higher health is affected by the spell. The remaining life of the creature must be less than or equal to the remaining spell to successfully affect the creature.
Undead creatures and creatures immune to charms are not affected by this spell.
When the spell is cast using 2 or more spell slots, each time the spell slot is 1 ring higher than the 1st ring, the spell’s dice is increased by 2d8.
