Web 5e

Web 5e

You specify a point within casting distance of the spell and summon a large, sticky, thick web. The spider web covers a 20-foot cubic area with that point as its source and remains present for the duration of the spell. The spider webs make the area difficult terrain and cause light shading.

Level: 2nd

Classes: Wizard, Sorcerer

Casting Time: 1 Action

Range: 60 feet

Components: V, S, M

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour

If the web is not anchored between two solids (such as a wall and a tree) or straddles a piece of floor, wall, or ceiling, the web you summoned automatically collapses, causing the spell to terminate at the start of your next turn. The depth of the spider’s web spread out on a flat surface is 5 feet.

Any creature that begins its turn in the spider’s web or enters the web during its turn must make one agility immunity. A creature that fails an immunity is bound to the web until it leaves the web or breaks its bonds.

A creature bound by a spider’s web may attempt to break free with one action. The creature must make a Strength check against the spell immunity DC, and is no longer bound if the check is successful.

These webs are combustible. Each 5-foot cubic foot of web burns out within 1 round when it touches an open flame. Any creature that begins its turn in the burned area takes 2d4 points of flame damage as a result.
