Zone of truth 5e – How does the zone of truth work exactly?

Zone of truth 5e

2nd level Enchantment (Bard, Cleric, Paladin)

Casting Time: 1 Action

Range: 60 feet

Components: VS

Duration: 10 minutes

You create a magic zone that resists lies, centered on a point within the cast range, and covering a 15-foot radius spherical area around the point. Before a spell ends, a creature enters the area for the first time within its turn, or begins its turn within the area, and must make a charm save. Those who fail the immunity cannot lie deliberately in this area. And you can know whether the exemption of each subject is successful.

The affected creature can be aware of the effect, so it can actively avoid answering questions that are usually answered with lies. The creature can flash its words and avoid the heavy when answering the question, but as long as it does not exceed the scope of the truth, there is no problem.

Discussion about Zone of truth 5e?

How does the d&d zone of truth work exactly?

It seems the saving throw repeats until you’re going to fail. But then does it keep repeating once under the spell? If not, why make a saving throw in the first place, it seems it’d be simpler for it to just work. (—Marc Sharma @LeMarcSharma)

Can’t read the dnd 5e spells without smiling at the zone of truth I will never NOT get it if I have the opportunity to bc there is little that rivals the satisfaction of saying “I cast ZONE OF TRUTH” and succeeding ur roll (—@dirkdialectic)

Location Idea: places that have permanent spell effects on them. A temple with Zone of Truth, a forest with Speak with Animals, a field with Speak with Plants, a dungeon within an Antimagic Field, a fort still protected by an angel cast Beacon of Hope. #dnd #rpg (—@ShadowScriptori)
