Java – TypeFace.createFromAsset Could not find font error

I am making a must start with “NASTALIQ. TTF” font displays text for Android applications. I put the font ttf file in the following directory of the project:

1. C:\Users\Zeeshan\AndroidStudioProjects\NasirKazmiPehliBarish\app\build\intermediates\assets\fonts\NASTALIQ. TTF

2. C:\Users\Zeeshan\AndroidStudioProjects\NasirKazmiPehliBarish\app\build\generated\assets\fonts\NASTALIQ. TTF

I use the following line to load the font:

Typeface tf = Typeface.createFromAsset(this.getAssets(), "/fonts/NASTALIQ. TTF");

But it throws an exception that the font cannot be found. Here is the log:

It may be that I provided the wrong path and it did not find the target font. I tried a lot of combinations but they didn’t work, for example:

Download your font file from main/assets/fonts/NASTALIQ. TTF
If any folder does not exist, create it.
